Founded in 2016, Great Plains Structures is privately owned and managed by professionals in the water and wastewater storage tank industry. Great Plains Structures is the authorized storage tank dealer in Minnesota, Western Wisconsin, Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming and Colorado for CST Industries Inc. (formerly A.O. Smith’s Engineered Storage Products Company of DeKalb, IL). Great Plains Structures will provide new (turn-key) storage tank and geodesic dome sales, construction, and service for the brands that owners and operators have trusted for decades, including Aquastore, HydroTec, PetroTec and CST Covers (formerly Temcor/Conservatek) domes and covers.

Great Plains Structures was founded in 2016 by professionals in the water and wastewater industry. GPS proudly serves the Midwest and West as a specialty contractor delivering sustainable liquid storage systems including bolted steel tanks and pump stations.

This team has provided technical sales, project management, and construction services for more than 600 bolted tank and cover installations for CST Industries Inc.

Jason was a former Vice President of Engineering America, Inc. a bolted tank contractor in the Midwest and has over 20 years of municipal and industrial construction management experience supporting CST Industries, Inc. in a 19 state territory. Jason was an integral part of the combined direct sales and construction of over 700 CST industries, Inc. (formerly Columbian TecTank) Glass-Coated Aquastore, Epoxy-coated Tecstore, and HydroTec turn-key storage tank installations.Jason has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from Minnesota State University in Mankato, Minnesota in 1999. Jason has also served on the board for CST Industries’ North American Association of Independent Municipal and Industrial Tank Dealers.

Bill Barr, former Director of Project Management for Engineering America, Inc., has over 18 years of municipal and industrial project management and construction experience with water storage tanks and over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry. Bill and his project management team were instrumental in providing turn-key service to owners and engineers on water storage tank projects across a 19 state territory. Bill and his partners at Great Plains Structures (GPS), are carrying their experience and support of CST Industries’ storage tank product line forward, including the well-known Glass-Fused-to-Steel Aquastore tank.

Bill earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from the University of Northern Iowa, in Cedar Falls, Iowa in 1996. He has completed additional coursework in AutoCad Drafting, Management and Leadership, and Construction Safety.

Rob has spent the last 33 years working in the municipal and industrial water and wastewater industry in the Upper Midwest Region. During this time, he has been heavily involved in the bolted storage tank market. Rob has consistently provided customers, specifying engineers, and end users with proven detailed designs, efficient construction methods, guidance in water system operation, and critical maintenance for all types of bolted storage tanks.

Rob was born and raised in South Dakota and resides in Watertown, SD. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends.

Glenn worked as a consulting engineer and a city engineer for public water/wastewater related projects exceeding $30 million. Additionally, Glenn has over 20 years of municipal and industrial design and construction engineering experience. Throughout his career in the water/wastewater, oil and gas, and industrial arenas, Glenn has been responsible for the sales, delivery, and technical oversight of 200 plus storage tanks to those markets. Glenn’s extensive experience has been an important asset to Great Plains Structures. As a group, Glenn and the (GPS) team have been instrumental in the direct sales and construction management of over 700 CST industries, Inc. (formerly Columbian TecTank) Glass-Coated Aquastore, Epoxy-coated Tecstore, and HydroTec turn-key storage tank installations.

Glenn has a Master of Business Administration from Augsburg College (2007), a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota (1997), and Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of North Dakota (1995). He is active in many engineering societies and has been on several local committees whose responsibility was to select project winners for state and national engineering awards.
Glenn is a licensed Professional Engineer in the states of Arkansas, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Washington, Nevada, Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico.



Nathan Monroe has been with the company since the inception in 2016, and has been working in the construction industry for almost 20 years. Originally from southeast Michigan, he started as a laborer for his family’s plumbing company and obtained a bachelor’s degree in business accounting and finance from Bethel University. During his seven years at Mortenson Construction, Nathan was recognized as a problem solver with a passion for improving efficiency and cost performance. As one of the senior project accountants, Nathan monitored projects with over $150 million in annual revenue, and ensured accurate financial reporting across their four Canadian entities. After his time with Mortenson, Nathan worked as Engineering America’s construction accountant for almost two years, before stepping into his current role with Great Plains Structures.

Nathan is a detail-oriented cost accountant with more than 10 years of accounting and financial analysis experience. He has been recognized as a problem solver with a passion for improving efficiency and cost performance, and has demonstrated his abilities to balance several concurrent roles/responsibilities while providing critical financial support to company leadership.

Guy Pence is a former Industrial salesperson for Engineering America, Inc. Guy brings 20 years of municipal and industrial consultative sales experience to the Great Plains Structures team. Guy also worked for our tank and covers supplier, CST Industries, Inc. During his time with CST as a Regional Sales Manager, Guy was responsible for sales in 20 states and 7 Canadian territories and provinces. Over the years, Guy provided solutions to companies like Pepsi, Freeport-McMoRan, Western Refining, Procter & Gamble, Dow Chemical, Goodyear Tire & Rubber and numerous U.S. city, and state agencies to name a few.
Guy received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from The University of Arizona in 1998.





Shanda was a former project assistant and estimator at Engineering America, Inc. a bolted tank contractor in the Midwest and has over 15 years of municipal and industrial estimating experience supporting CST Industries, Inc. in a 19 state territory.

Shanda has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from UW Oshkosh and loves everything Wisconsin. GO Packers!





Josh Geistfeld has spent the last 10 years in Construction Management in the Wireless Industry, joined the GPS team in October 2018 for the new challenge of Bolted Steel Tank Construction. During those 10 years of Wireless Construction Management, he was involved with the install of 3G and 4G networks for all 4 major wireless carriers throughout the Midwest. Managing civil, electrical and tower crews to complete complex installations of varying applications. Those years have enabled him to apply the construction standards and procedures learned to enhance the efforts of the construction crews to create the highest quality finished products with safety and quality always in the forefront. With the mentorship of the GPS Team, Josh is gaining industry knowledge every day and learning how to apply that knowledge to this unique and exciting industry.

Josh grew up in Champlin, MN and completed his degree in Architectural Drafting & Design from Hennepin Tech in 2004, and also has 8 years of new home design.
